Context
Hot on the heels of our recent Web Widget launch that enabled more seamless and integrated in-website customer support, we turned our focus to proactive messaging in aid of Zendesk's vision of "helping businesses have authentic, sustainable relationships with their customers through beautiful, intuitive software experiences". The initial success of this work resulted in an acquisition and increased investment in this space.
Mission
Build, launch and learn as quickly as possible. At a high-level, we created a tool that allowed customers to segment their customers based on certain criteria, send them targeted in-product messages (IPM) and monitor their impact.
Role
I led design for the early stages of this work, in partnership with a PM driving the initiative (Aaron Cottrell) and a nimble engineering team.
